Three go-to stretches

We are all quite immobile in our mid/thoracic spines. As it doesn’t allow for movement in the middle of the back we have to move more from below and above it, which increases the chance of soreness in both the neck and lower back.

This can be exacerbated by seated positions like driving and computer work where the arms are extended in front for long periods.

The 3 stretches below will allow the pectoral muscles to lengthen, the mid spine to remain open and the occiput to release –  all areas that if tight, can cause a lot of pain.

Pec opener

Chest opener

Occipital release
