I may have been as young as 12 when my Chiropractic godfather told me I had one leg longer than the other. That was contributing to hip misalignment. My back was sore from such an early age. Yes, I was a fast swimmer who would swim 4000m a day, but get me stood up, try to run, and my feet would collapse. I was supposed to wear a prop in my shoe for this leg length discrepancy, but when has any teenager ever remembered or taken any advice?!

I also have really flat feet. I’m reminded of it on a regular basis when my pancaking feet make my pelvis feel wonky. Another common issue with not this is plantar fasciitis. This is a painful condition, often resolved by working the foot fascia and muscles. Scrunching up a towel on the floor with your toes and rolling a ball under the foot can be helpful.

I often recommend these arch supports when foot gait is contributing to knee or lower back pain. They prop up the inner arches that then support your lower legs and give you a solid base. If you’ve ever been told you pronate, these insoles are great (you just have to remember to swop them around shoes, or buy multiple pairs).
